A new study published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal has reported "robust associations" between child physical and sexual abuse and mental conditions including disorders, suicidal ideation and suicide attempts. The first nationally representative study of its kind, the findings "highlight the urgent need to make prevention of child abuse a priority in Canada".
